CELEBRATING 80 YEARS OF BUGS BUNNY!

Bugs Concerto by Chuck Jones

That wascally wabbit we all know and love turns 80 on July 27th! Baking a carrot cake in his honor would be an appropriate way to celebrate!

The Chuck Jones Gallery is honoring this birthday milestone with the release of “Bugs Concerto” a fine art print on canvas measuring 19″ x 24″ and in an edition of 375. Offered at a pre-publication price of only $695 FRAMED through the end of July. Click the image or here to acquire this striking work of art. It’ll be the centerpiece of any room in your home, office, or rabbit burrow.

Rabbit Season by Mike Kupka

“Rabbit Season” fine art print on canvas by Mike Kupka, 12″ x 24″, edition of 80. Click the image to acquire.

Artist Mike Kupka has created a spectacular tribute to Bugs Bunny and to Chuck Jones who directed him in some of his most iconic roles. “Rabbit Season” features Bugs in nine different cartoons directed by Chuck Jones! They are: Baby Buggy Bunny, 1954; Bunny Hugged, 1951; Hair-Raising Hare, 1946; Long-Haired Hare, 1949; Bully for Bugs, 1953; What’s Opera, Doc?, 1957; Super Rabbit, 1943; Broom-stick Bunny, 1956; Hareway to the Stars, 1958 and with special guest star, Daffy Duck appearing in Rabbit Fire, 1951. Click the image to acquire.

Picture the Future by Chuck Jones

Originally released in 2005, “Picture the Future” celebrated Bugs’s 65th birthday. For his 80th birthday, and with only six remaining  in the edition, we are pleased to offer “Picture the Future” framed with an 80th anniversary plaque for just $2850 before the price increases to $4000 on August 1, 2020. Don’t delay, order today by clicking the image or here.

Chuck Jones once said, “My Bugs doesn’t look like a rabbit; he looks like Bugs Bunny. I have often told eager students that the easiest way to draw him is probably to draw a carrot and then hook a rabbit onto it.” To read more about Bugs Bunny and Chuck Jones, click here.

Dunk ‘n’ Dash — Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
2020 Poster by Daniel Killen

As you may know, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta has been canceled for 2020. However, they are still releasing Daniel Killen’s poster, “Dunk ‘n’ Dash” for this year. They’ve decided to add an additional poster to the line-up and Daniel has agreed to continue this project through 2022.

“Dunk ‘n’ Dash”, fine art serigraph on paper, 36″ x 24″ edition of 50 Artist Proofs remarqued by the artist and hand-signed and numbered. Click the image to acquire.

“Dunk ‘n’ Dash” is a maneuver practiced by skilled aeronauts where they glide the bottom of the basket across the top of the water of the Rio Grande and lift off again without getting wet (allegedly). This maneuver has been poorly executed by the Coyote and the Road Runner is close behind him  offering a towel to dry off with in consolation.

The image is full of traditional Killen iconography, from the zoetrope-like character figures circling Coyote’s balloon, to the actual Road Runner and Coyote footprints in the sand of the river bank. The state flower of New Mexico, the Yucca, is featured as well as the state butterfly and toad. And somewhere, hidden in the design is an actual Road Runner. Can you spot it?

Click here to hear Daniel discuss his inspiration for this poster and the series.

Holding the attention of his collectors was not a problem for the artist, Simone Bianchi, at last night's opening reception for him at the Chuck Jones Gallery, 232 Fifth Avenue (just 1/2 block from the Convention Center), San Diego.

It's "thumb's up" as Marvel Comics artist, Simone Bianchi, poses with two of his most ardent collectors during the reception held in his honor at the Chuck Jones Gallery in San Diego.

Yes, yes, I know, the man with the "Don't Press Your Luck" t-shirt looks really angry, but I guarantee you that he is not–he's just a devoted, passionate fan and collector of the art of Simone Bianchi (shown seated in the black beret.)

We'd be remiss if we did not share with you a few photos (BTW, all of these photos are courtesy the multi-talented Dean Diaz, a longtime employee of Linda Jones Enterprises and all-around wit), of some of the people attending this year's Comic Con International.  Enjoy!
