I am just like Bugs, at least in that I have grey hare and like carrots.

I think it's interesting when animators create certain characters it seems like they place characters within them that they would either like to have themselves or perhaps admire or have. That gives their character a human element that makes the character easier to relate to and draws in a larger fan base. Just look how big Bugs Bunny got and the character is still just as well known today as he was when he was first drawn.
