Take the Lead Teen Summit

Take the Lead 2010

Hundreds of high school students participated in TAKE THE LEAD at the 14th Annual Teem Summit on Friday, March 12, 2010 at California State University, Fullerton.  It was the larges youth conference of its kind in Southern California.  TAKE THE LEAD is designed to promote volunteerism, develop leadership skills and increase awareness of social trends at the local, state and national levels.  Students participated in over 20 interactive workshops focusing on service, leadership and civic engagement.

One such workshop, "Litter-ally, It's Art! Creating Socially Conscience Art," was hosted by Chuck Jones Center for Creativity.  Led by Craig Kausen, grandson of Chuck Jones and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of CJCC, Kausen led a spirited group of high-schoolers in an art class that utilized found objects (we call it 'obtainium'), assisting him was Program Director for CJCC, Pamela Marsden.  To learn more about TAKE THE LEAD, please click here.
