New Mexico’s Rose Parade Float Starring Pepe le Pew Wins Grand Marshall’s Trophy!

New Mexico’s 2010 Rose Parade float “Enchantment is in the Air” won the coveted Grand Marshall’s Trophy for the second time in their fifth outing in Pasadena’s renowned Rose Parade.  Designed by Raul Rodriguez, the float featured the Warner Bros. animation characters, Pepe Le Pew and Penelope Pussycat, created by director and creator Chuck Jones.

Chuck Jones’ Pepé le Pew Is ‘A Cut Above’: New Mexico Rose Parade Float Design Unveiled

Dateline Santa Fe, NM–Last night New Mexico Tourism Secretary Michael Cerletti along with Raul Rodriguez of Fiesta Parade Floats unveiled the 2010 New Mexico Rose Parade Float design in a ceremony at the Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum.   Titled Enchantment is in the Air, it features Chuck Jones' Academy Award® -winning Pepé le Pew and Penelope Pussycat and a series of balloons traveling over the New Mexico landscape.  You can read the full report at What's the Word with Peter St.Cyr.

Mr. Rodriguez said "Chuck Jones is an inspiration to me and I hope that he would be proud and happy with the floats that we have created for New Mexico."  Craig Kausen of the Chuck Jones Galleries presented Raul Rodriguez with
a work of art depicting the amorous skunk by his grandfather, Chuck
Jones, in appreciation of his continued celebration of Chuck Jones and
his characters.
