“Always Have a Plan B” fine art reproduction on paper by Fabio Napoleoni, exclusive to the Chuck Jones Gallery.

Much of life’s loves and tribulations have influenced Fabio’s artwork but none more than the traumatic events that followed the birth of his second child.  His daughter, born with severe heart abnormalities, had to face several surgeries to correct issues that could have prevented her from having a future. His now iconic character, the tattered and stitched together Marcenivo, and his quest for eternal happiness and love, is one way he shows the resiliency of the human spirit. Through his art, he feels that he can repay a debt of gratitude for the life his daughter now enjoys.

Napoleoni, one of America’s rising young art stars is making his first appearance at the gallery.  “As a child and into my teen years, the characters created by Chuck Jones played a huge role in my creative thinking. Chuck was able to create unique characters that made you laugh and smile uncontrollably. I utilize a similar sensibility except instead of laughter, my characters tug at your heart strings and evoke deep emotions. The fact that my works hang on the same walls as those of Chuck Jones I consider a high point of my career.”

About the gallery: The Chuck Jones Gallery, located in the plaza neighborhood of Old Santa Fe, is the destination for art collectors and visitors from around the world.  Owned by Linda Jones Enterprises, the publisher and distributor of the art of the legendary animation creator and director, Chuck Jones, it is the only gallery in San Diego devoted to the art of American popular culture. Included in the on-going display is art by not only its namesake, Chuck Jones, but also, Dr. Seuss, Charles Schulz, Tom Everhart, Markus Pierson, Glen Tarnowski, Fran Lew, and Fabio Napoleoni. For more information, please call the gallery at 505-983-5999.

Mr. Napoleoni is available for interviews subject to his schedule. Images available upon request.

Fabio Napoleoni at Chuck Jones Gallery, Comic Con 2016

American art star, Fabio Napoleoni, will be making a special appearance at the Chuck Jones Gallery–San Diego on Friday, July 22nd from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Creator of the much-beloved Marcenivo, Fabio continues to delight and inspire with his simple tales of love and redemption. Fabio’s engaging perspective of what the world needs most, love, comes in the form of his charming alter ego, Marcenivo. Whether he’s sailing away, deep in a forest, riding a bicycle, boxing, or holding onto his favorite doll, Marcenivo’s goal is to bring love to the world. It may be in the form of a “Love Bomb” or it may be one of his friends that bears the message of hope and friendship.

Specifically for Comic Con and this reception for the artist, Napoleoni has paid homage to not only Chuck Jones, but also the galaxies of super heroes — Marcenivo in cosplay.

The official adaptation of William Shatner’s Man O’ War: Cinematic Graphic Novel is a 16-chapter taut, action-filled drama of a controversial ambassador sent to negotiate peace between workers at a Martian mining colony and the corporation that owns their lives. Its flawed but charismatic hero, Benton Hawkes, confronts corrupt powerbrokers, political assassination, clandestine relationships and dangerous exploration and investigation on a depleted Earth and a powder-keg Mars.

“Showcasing Shatner at his best, William Shatner’s Man O’ War: Cinematic Graphic Novel features humanistic storytelling based on his more than 50 years of performance and his lifetime of understanding power and people.  A lifelong fan of comics, Mr. Shatner has actively worked on projects in this field and has had an ongoing vision to advance the medium with technological enhancements. “With the surge of popularity for mobile devices, and with new devices in the pipeline, he believes the time is ripe to introduce a new product channel into the market – and we are thrilled to be part of his vision,” said Mariano Nicieza, LNL Partners Co-Owner.

Collectors who acquire artwork from William Shatner’s Man O’ War cinematic graphic novel from the Chuck Jones Gallery will be given priority access to meet Mr. Shatner on Saturday evening. What differentiates The Red Dot Auction from other silent auctions is that all of the contributing artists have signed their artwork on the reverse. Consequently attendees at the event will not know who the artist is when bidding, they’ll only have their heart to follow. “We wanted to create a fun, engaging silent auction, and to further the suspense of not knowing which work belongs to which artist, each artist received an identical 12” square stretched canvas upon which to create their work of art,” noted Richard Alcazar, President of the Council for Creativity, the volunteer arm of the Center.

This is the fifth annual Red Dot Auction to be held Friday, May 1st, from 7 to 10 PM at the Center located at South Coast Collection (SoCo), 3321 Hyland Avenue, Costa Mesa, California. Admission is $25 per person and open to the public. Buy your tickets by April 25th and receive 5 free raffle tickets when you sign in at the front desk the evening of the event. To buy tickets online, go to ChuckJonesCenter.org or call 949-660-7791 x 20107.

“The artists range from students to emerging to established artists; we reached out around the world hoping to capture the imagination and appreciation of these artists. We are thankful that they were willing to help us achieve our goal of promoting creativity by providing a nurturing environment where it may grow and blossom,” said Craig Kausen, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Center.

The Center is located in South Coast Collection (SoCo) at 3321 Hyland Avenue, Suite A, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. Visit ChuckJonesCenter.org for more details.
