Santa Fe, NM: The Chuck Jones Gallery is pleased to welcome painter Fabio Napoleoni as they open his “Always Have a Plan B” solo exhibition in Santa Fe. This is Napoleoni’s first exhibition and sale in Santa Fe. The Collector Preview is scheduled for Friday, August 12 from 6 to 8 PM at the gallery, 126 W. Water St. at Ortiz. Mr. Napoleoni will be drawing “live” at this event. An open house is scheduled for Saturday, August 13, from 1 to 6 PM with Napoleoni in attendance; he will be signing dedications at both events. These receptions are free and open to the public.
Much of life’s loves and tribulations have influenced Fabio’s artwork but none more than the traumatic events that followed the birth of his second child. His daughter, born with severe heart abnormalities, had to face several surgeries to correct issues that could have prevented her from having a future. His now iconic character, the tattered and stitched together Marcenivo, and his quest for eternal happiness and love, is one way he shows the resiliency of the human spirit. Through his art, he feels that he can repay a debt of gratitude for the life his daughter now enjoys.
Napoleoni, one of America’s rising young art stars is making his first appearance at the gallery. “As a child and into my teen years, the characters created by Chuck Jones played a huge role in my creative thinking. Chuck was able to create unique characters that made you laugh and smile uncontrollably. I utilize a similar sensibility except instead of laughter, my characters tug at your heart strings and evoke deep emotions. The fact that my works hang on the same walls as those of Chuck Jones I consider a high point of my career.”
